All Melbourne schools are zoned. Where there are insufficient places for all students who seek entry, students are enrolled in the following priority order:
Students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood school.
Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time.
Other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.
Exceptional circumstances and compassionate grounds.
If you do not reside within the local school zone we are only able to accept your enrolment where a vacancy exists. Visit Find My School for information about our zone, or refer to the Department of Education Placement Policy. The Berwick Primary School Placement Policy can be found here.

Please ensure all required documents are attached to the application, including birth certificate, proof of residency (passport/visa if required) and residential address. Proof of residential address must be 1 document from List A and 1 from List B:
Recent Council rate notice, lease agreement of 12 month duration. Statutory Declaration may also be requested.
Gas or electricity bill (must be less than 8 weeks old) or current driver's licence.
Foundation (Prep 2027) enrolment submissions should be made by 31 July 2026. Offers will be sent via the portal between 3 – 14 August 2026.
An Application to Enrol can be submitted directly at the school office or emailed to berwick.ps@education.vic.gov.au. Applications should be made by Friday 18 September 2026. In-zone families will be provided with a Student Enrolment form and further information once the application is verified.
Students transferring from another Victorian Government primary school are required to advise their current school of their intention to transfer.
All families who have successful enrolments will be advised of the dates and times of transition sessions. Please contact the school if your child has particular needs you would like to discuss.

Kids' Club is a discovery learning program for pre-school aged children. The Kids' Club concept was introduced at Berwick Primary in 2008 and provides an opportunity for children to come to school and participate in a variety of play-based activities. Sessions are held on selected Friday afternoons from 1.45 to 2.45pm in Terms 2 and 3.
A six-week Transition Program is held in Term 4 for students who have a confirmed enrolment. This program is conducted by teachers and is designed to make children feel comfortable and happy at school in preparation for their entry the following year.
An opportunity for children and parents to meet the teacher and visit their classroom is provided early in December.
Prep 2027 enrolments are processed through the online VicStudents system. Submissions should be made by 31 July 2026. Offers will be sent via the portal between 3 – 14 August 2026.

Parent payments consist of curriculum contributions, other contributions, and extra-curricular items and activities. School Council is responsible for developing and approving parent payments in line with the Department's policy.
There are three areas for which parents may reasonably be requested to make a payment or contribution:
Items and activities that students use, or participate in, to access the Curriculum.
Non-curriculum items and activities to support the daily operation and objectives of Berwick Primary School.
Items and activities that enhance or broaden the schooling experience and are above and beyond what the school provides to deliver the curriculum. These are provided on a user-pays basis and include the student and school magazine.

Families holding a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card may be eligible for CSEF, which provides $125 per year to assist with the cost of camps, sports and excursions. Please contact the school office for more information.
Booklist items for 2025 are supplied by Office Corporate. Teachers have carefully selected each item your child needs to start the year.
Items can be ordered via the Office Corporate portal for delivery to your home. Parents have two options:
A complete list of all items required for the start of the school year.
Excludes most stationery items which can be retained from the previous year or purchased new. Not applicable for Prep and Grade 1.
Free home delivery for orders placed by 30 November. A $6.95 fee applies from 1 December.

Berwick Primary School has a compulsory uniform. Wearing the uniform fosters a sense of community and belonging, and ensures all students feel equal and included regardless of background.
Sport uniform is worn on designated PE days. Students are advised of their PE days at the start of each year.

Good quality, second-hand uniform items can be donated to the school or sold on consignment. If you would like to resell uniform items, please complete the Uniform Resale Form and leave it with the items at the school office.
